CIOI strongly believes that there are significant business opportunities between Prince Edward Island and China.
CIOI assists Island companies and organizations in evaluating and pursuing international opportunities, allowing them to enter the market well prepared. The Company will be involved in a range of activities such as market investigation, technology evaluation and transfer, export promotion, and foreign investment in numerous industries. In addition, the Company can forge business and trade opportunities between China and Atlantic Canada to enhance and expand Island businesses.
CIOI can establish effective trade mission arrangements with corporate content to develop business and trade relationships between the Government of Prince Edward Island and China. A customized itinerary for delegations will include business, education, and cultural components depending on the particular requirements of the mission.
Educated skilled workers are increasingly in high demand in all provinces and for that matter globally. The Company is dedicated to recruiting and retaining professionals and highly specialized skilled workers worldwide to fill skill shortages in PEI. Priority will be given to recruitment in economic sectors where skill shortages are impacting the provincial economy by holding back employment growth or economic diversification. Initial targeted candidates will be international students in Canada. According to research compiled on the international student market, the principal source countries for international student are increasingly concentrated in the East Asian region.
International students are essential to the Province as they not only generate economic benefits but also bring an intercultural perspective to the classroom and to communities. The University of Prince Edward Island and Holland College offer these students a wide range of quality programs and training options. The cultural landscape also makes PEI an ideal place to stay. The Company will work closely with these post secondary institutions in their increasing efforts to attract foreign students from China
Attracting and retaining immigrants to address skill shortages needs to be supported by the successful transition of immigrants into the Island’s economic, social, and cultural life. The settlement and adaptation program offered by CIOI will support the early and effective settlement of newcomers to PEI by assisting newcomers in settling, adjusting, and contributing to life on PEI. By accessing the program, immigrants are better able to obtain opportunities with local PEI businesses and enhance PEI’s economic growth.
Supported by the unique business and cultural expertise of its principals, the Company will provide practical market research, market entry strategies, feasibility studies, and industry surveys to help local businesses understand and adopt cross-cultural business methodologies, thereby increasing the prospects of success.
CIOI will create and delivers innovative language translation and localization solutions that make it easy for businesses and professionals to interact with internal and external multilingual audiences.
